SAJDA MOHAMMAD KA THA
Na Adam Ka | A Sufi Reflection on Adam, Muhammad ﷺ & Divine Command
An original contemporary Sufi reflection by Dr. Zarf-e-Noori, presented by SufiPulse USA.
The Qur’anic story is clear in its outward form:
Allah commanded the angels to prostrate before Adam.
Iblis refused.
This work enters the story through a mystical question:
What did Iblis fail to recognize?
“Sajda Mohammad ka tha, na Adam ka” is the song’s poetic answer — not a replacement for the Qur’anic account.
The composition reads Adam’s clay as visible form and the Muhammadan Light as an inward Sufi symbol of prophetic meaning.
The failure is seeing only the clay.

◆ WHY THIS WORK
The song turns the story of Adam and Iblis into a meditation on obedience.
Iblis saw hierarchy:
“I am better than him.”
The seeker is asked to see the deeper danger:
worship without surrender can still leave the ego alive.
Zāhir and bātin — outward form and inward meaning — become a question about knowledge, pride, and obedience.

◆ EDITORIAL NOTE
The Qur’an states that the command was to prostrate to Adam.
Accordingly, “Sajda Mohammad Ka Tha | Na Adam Ka” must be understood as mystical and interpretive language.
It is not a claim that the Qur’anic command literally named Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the object of that prostration.
Noor-e-Muhammadi appears in some Sufi metaphysical traditions, with differing formulations across Islamic scholarship.
This release presents one devotional reading.

◆ WRITER’S NOTE
The Noor of Muhammad ﷺ within Adam is presented here as Sufi symbolism, not as an explicit Qur’anic statement.
Likewise, “Azazil loved Tawheed” and descriptions of prophetic light passing through the prophets belong to theological and mystical traditions interpreted in different ways.
Nothing in this work means that Muhammad ﷺ is Divine, shares Allah’s essence, or literally inhabits another human being.
Allah alone is worshipped.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and Messenger.
Poetry explores the sirr.
Creed preserves the boundary.

◆ CREATOR & SPIRITUAL CONTEXT
Dr. Zarf-e-Noori is the principal literary and creative voice behind SufiPulse USA.
His work turns inherited sacred narratives toward the inner life through Sufi metaphor.
Here, Iblis becomes a warning against knowledge that recognizes words but refuses surrender.
The question is not whether one can see clay.
It is whether one can obey Allah without making ego the final interpreter.
