I Am a Sinner begins with confession. Not performance. Not self-condemnation. Confession. The seeker stands before Allah with failure, regret, longing, and the fear that he has gone too far to return. Then comes the whisper: “You are not the sin — you are the seeker.” The line does not erase responsibility. It opens the door to mercy. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◆ WHY THIS WORK Sin can distort how a person sees himself. The seeker may begin to confuse what he has done with what he is. This work separates accountability from despair. A person can regret. A person can repent. A person can return. The song asks whether shame should become a wall between the seeker and Allah — or whether remorse can become the first step back. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◆ EDITORIAL NOTE The “Divine whisper” in this composition is a literary and devotional device. It represents the seeker’s inward experience of mercy, Qur’anic hope, remembrance, and conscience.
