Lal Ded. Nund Rishi. Shah-e-Hamdan. Zain-ud-Din Wali. Baba Rishi. Makhdoom Sahib. Dawood Khaki. Shams Faqir. Soch Kral. Yaqub Sarfi. Bulbul Shah. And many others. The song places their remembered lives before the next generation as questions of conduct. They do not replace the Kaaba as Qibla, the mosque as a place of worship, or the religious meaning of Imam. “Ya Ali” is used within devotional Sufi language and does not attribute independent Divine power to Sayyiduna Ali (RA). Statements such as “written by His Command” or “the heart was whispered to” are not claims of wahy, Divine authorship, or infallibility.
